A pair of motorcyclists died in crashes on Saturday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Just after 2 a.m., troopers say a 27-year-old man riding a 2025 Suzuki GSX-R1000 was headed eastbound on Taft-Vineland Road approaching Sidney Hayes Road, just west of Orange Avenue in south Orlando when he failed to slow down for a Volvo semi tractor pulling a double trailer and collided with the rear of it. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene.
Then, around 8:24 a.m., a male motorcyclist headed south aboard a Suzuki Katana 750 on Bill Beck Boulevard near the Osceola County Stadium failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the left side of the road and struck a curb and utility pole. Troopers said the rider was transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, where he died of his injuries. The Medical Examiner's Office said it would contact FHP after positively identifying the victim.
These crashes remain under investigation, FHP says.
