Portraits of Who I Am, a workshop series presented in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club of St. Cloud, made its debut at the club last month.
REFLECTIONS, designed and fully funded by The WYE Project, Inc., a 501(c)3 community non-profit, is a creativity workshops project aimed at helping youths explore their inhibitions and strengths through art. In the process, they learn to channel multiple aspects of themselves into positive results.
The special workshops, being given during the Club’s summer camp program, serve 16 youths ages 1015 each week. The project coordinator is being assisted by two student interns, Nomaris Hernandez and Kaitlynn Torres of St. Cloud High School.
A Community Showcase of the youths’ works will be held at the St. Cloud Boys & Girls Club on Saturday, August 12th.
The WYE Project (World Youth Expo Project or WYEP) was founded in 2019 in Kissimmee. Its mission is to help mostly underprivileged and at-risk youths develop strength of character and to work toward educational goals through various means of creative expression. And the collaborative efforts between organizations with similar goals such as WYEP and B&GCCF are essential to accomplishing this.
