Great Outdoors Day, an event by the City of St. Cloud, is an opportunity to explore and learn about the great outdoors, takes place this Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lakefront Park. There will be live animal demonstrations, eco-educational and recreational exhibits, arts and crafts tent, food trucks, music and more. Bring those pumpkins for the annual Pumpkin Smash. Donate canned goods for entry to win the Ultimate “Great Outdoors” gift basket. Come early for a fun run and park cleanup at 8 a.m. For more information, call 407-957-7243.

 

Diwali is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. It symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”. Diwali is the Indian “Festival of Lights”.

A Diwali Celebration will be on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Chisholm Park. There will be vendors and trucks, dance, music, games, drawings, yoga, meditation, fireworks and enjoy a Bollywood musical. Animal Services Community Appreciation Day is this Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Animal rescue groups will be onsite and there will be training demonstrations, along with food, music, face painting and prize drawings. St. Cloud Youth Football and Cheer presents its Fall Festival on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Hickory Tree Community Park (2361 Old Hickory Tree Road) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy music, food, arts and crafts, kid’s zone, trunk or treat, prizes and more.

 

Creative Inspiration Journey School (2030 Old Hickory Trail Road), presents its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This free event will feature hayrides, face painting, games, activities and their very famous “milk the cow” contest.

 

Mater Academy St. Cloud, (1925 Nora Tyson Road), is holding its annual Fall Market on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This market includes a gallery walk of student art, shopping, food and fun.

 

Soldier City’s Veterans Salute Dinner presented by St. Cloud Main Street and Dan Newlin, Injury Attorneys, will be held on Friday, Nov. 10 at the St. Cloud Marina Banquet Hall. This dinner event pays tribute to Veterans of all wars. They provide as many free meals to St. Cloud Veterans as possible through donations.

The fifth annual St. Thomas Aquinas 5k, a run to benefit St. Thomas’s campus safety and security, will be on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 8 a.m. The fee for this Chip time run is $35 for ages 13 and up and $15 for ages 4 to 12. Besides helping this great cause, runners will experience a beautiful race course, live online results, race t-shirt, finisher medals and more.

The race starts at St. Thomas Aquinas on Brown Chapel Road, east on 5th Street, north on Columbia, west at Lakeshore to Dakota, turn around and finishes back at the school. For more information, email development@stacschool.com.
