ST. CLOUD NEWS — Want in on a triathlon? Better hurry!

Swim, bike and run your way to the finish line at the Big Red Chair Sprint Triathlon and 5K Race on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center (2991 17th St.) The start time is 7 a.m. The Sprint Triathlon includes 400-yard pool swim, a 12-mile bike race and 5K run. There is also a 5K run option.
The last day to register for this event is Thursday, Sept. 11. The cost to participate in the Sprint Triathlon is $65 and $35 for the 5K race. To sign-up, go to https://bit.ly/44hnnMX.

 

The City of St. Cloud presents Sami’s Star-Spangled Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veterans Park. Children can make patriotic crafts, enjoy inflatables and a live DJ.

Peace, Love & Hippies! Hippie Stock takes place on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 2-7 p.m. in Downtown St. Cloud’s Historic District, located on 11th Street from New York to Pennsylvania Avenues Enjoy this Saturday afternoon pop-up event, while enjoying the Wine Walk Event taking place.
Wine Walk in the Cloud meets monthly. Tickets for wine tasting and Wine Walk passport may be purchased through Wine Walk in the Cloud’s Facebook page. You do not need to purchase tickets for Hippie Stock. There will be food trucks and music and plenty of groovy photo ops.

The St. Cloud Police Department and St. Cloud Council member Jennifer Paul presents a Community Town Hall on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Marina Banquet Hall. The topic will be Traffic Stops: What to Expect. This informative and interactive Town Hall addresses what drivers can expect during a law enforcement traffic stop.


Help preserve the 1886 Narcoossee School House on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a community barbeque. The cost is $10 for a meal of pork or chicken, baked beans and potato salad. Osceola County students do not have school on Friday, Sept. 26. The City of St. Cloud will present a Day Camp on that date from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This Day Camp is for children ages 5 to 12 and will be held at the St. Cloud Civic Center. Save the date for the St. Cloud Women’s Club 10th Annual Craft Show and Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Cloud Community Center. Free parking and admission. There will be a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, hot dog, beverage and snack stand. Vendor spaces are available.

The theme is 1920’s Glam with music, cocktails and more. There will be blackjack, poker, roulette and craps. All benefits benefit local community projects through the Rotary Club of St. Cloud.
