Happy New Year St. Cloud! If you’re looking for something new, the City of St. Cloud’s Skate Park is now open. Located at Ted Broda Memorial Park (4499 Michigan Ave.), the new skate park is fun for all ages. Ted Broda Memorial Park also features a nature trail, recreational area, playground area, rest rooms and two lighted tennis courts.

 

Don’t Curb, Swap It! St. Cloud’s Annual Tree Swap is Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Instead of throwing your old real Christmas tree to the curb, bring it over to St. Cloud Civic Center and swap it out for a new tree to plant at your home, and receive the mulch from your Christmas tree. The Cruisin’ Reunion Car Show, hosted by CruiseMaster Mike T, will take place on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Saint Cloud Community Church, (1717 13th St.) from 9 a.m. to noon. There is no registration fee—cars, trucks, motorcycles, trikes, sling shots and special interest vehicles of show quality welcome. There will also be a “Stuff Trunk Sale”: arts, crafts, parts and more. Vendor and table space is available. For more information, call 407-460-3224.

 

The 2024 Annual Redneck Gala will be at New Hastings Ranch (1550 Dolphin Dr.) on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 5-10 p.m. The Redneck Gala is a fund raiser to help support the efforts of The St. Cloud Main Street program in their mission for economic development and historic preservation in Historic Downtown St. Cloud. The event features live music from the J Alan Six Band and a steak dinner, beer, wine, games and more.

The next Downtown St. Cloud Food and Art Festival will be Friday, Jan. 26th from 5 to 9 p.m. Check back in this space for more information to come.

Save the date! Kenansville Community Association’s Chili Cook Off takes place on Saturday, Jan. 27. There is no fee to enter chili. The cost is $7 for a bowl and tasting. Chili judging begins at 3:30 p.m. and public tasting begins at 4 p.m. First place wins $100, second place $50 and third place $25.

The Chili Cook Off will be held at 1178 S. Canoe Creek Road (about a mile west of 441 near the fire station and library).
