ST. CLOUD NEWS — Service above self on and around Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

The City of St. Cloud and Hopkins Heroes is hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Peghorn Nature Park. Volunteers will help with the beautification of one of St. Cloud’s city parks, take part in hands on service and learning opportunities. Lunch will be provided. In other volunteering news, the Rotary Club of St. Cloud is calling all students ages 12-18 to be part of the community–based Interact Club of St. Cloud. An interest meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Women’s Club of St. Cloud (1014 Massachusetts Ave.) Those interested in earning volunteer hours, building leadership skills, making a difference in the community and strengthening their resume or college application should consider attending. The City of St. Cloud is still accepting applications from residents interested in volunteering for an Advisory Board or Committee. There are vacancies on the Community Redevelopment Agency, Planning Commission, Recreation Advisory Committee and Zoning Board of Adjustment. Applications are due by Friday, Jan. 16. St. Cloud Heritage Museum Historic House Tour 2026 takes place on Friday, Jan. 16 at 12 noon and Saturday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. This is a bus tour to see historic homes in the area. Pick-up tickets at the St. Cloud Heritage Museum (1012 Massachusetts Ave.) or by calling Cede Hofmann at 407-897-2930.


Sami’s Star Spangled Celebration takes place on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Peghorn Park, 2101 Peghorn Way. Enjoy patriotic crafts, a live DJ, inflatables, face painting and more.


The Rotary Club of St. Cloud presents Rotary Business Networking on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Fiesta Azul Tequilla House (4037 13th St.) Whether your there to grow your business, make connections or just to see what Rotary is all about, you are welcome. A Health and Wellness Fair, presented by Orlando Health, St. Cloud Hospital and Rotary Club of St. Cloud will take place on Friday, Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the marina Banquet Hall. There will be complimentary health screenings and wellness checks, fitness, nutrition and preventative care tips. Community resources and local organizations will be onsite. Keep the holiday party going with the Redneck Gala on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 5-10 p.m. at Hastings Ranch, 1550 Dolphin Drive. The Redneck gala is a fundraiser to help support the efforts of the St. Cloud Main Street Program in their mission for economic development and historic preservation of downtown St. Cloud. This event includes live music, a steak dinner cooked by the Osceola Cattleman’s Association with all the fixin's, beer, wine, games and silent auction. St. Cloud Main Street and Granny’s Southern Smokehouse presents Roots & Rhythm Festival on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 9th and Pennsylvania Ave, in celebration of Black History Month.
