The City of St. Cloud and Hopkins Heroes is hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Peghorn Nature Park. Volunteers will help with the beautification of one of St. Cloud’s city parks, take part in hands on service and learning opportunities. Lunch will be provided. In other volunteering news, the Rotary Club of St. Cloud is calling all students ages 12-18 to be part of the community–based Interact Club of St. Cloud. An interest meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Women’s Club of St. Cloud (1014 Massachusetts Ave.) Those interested in earning volunteer hours, building leadership skills, making a difference in the community and strengthening their resume or college application should consider attending. Keep the holiday party going with the Redneck Gala on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 5-10 p.m. at Hastings Ranch, 1550 Dolphin Drive. The Redneck gala is a fundraiser to help support the efforts of the St. Cloud Main Street Program in their mission for economic development and historic preservation of downtown St. Cloud.
