The deadline has been extended to March 1 for the St. Cloud Historic Awards and Plaques. In May of 2023, the St. Cloud Main Street Program and the City of St. Cloud collaborated on a program to recognize historic buildings within the City limits. The awards program has four categories: preservation, rehabilitation, restoration and additions/new construction.

It’s Redneck Gala time! This year’s is Saturday, Jan. 27 from 5-10 p.m. at New Hastings Ranch (1550 Dolphin Dr.)

What is it? The Redneck Gala is a fund raiser to help support the efforts of The St. Cloud Main Street program in their mission for economic development and historic preservation in Historic Downtown St. Cloud. The event features live music from the J Alan Six Band and a steak dinner, beer, wine, games and more.

Registration is now open for the 3rd annual Run for the Cherubs 5K on Saturday, Feb. 3 benefitting Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies. This 5K runs through Lakefront Park in St. Cloud. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m., with the 5K beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The Four Chaplains—four World War II chaplains died rescuing civilian and military personnel, giving up their own life jackets when supplies ran out as the American troop ship SS Dorchester sank on February 3, 1943.
