The Silver Spurs Rodeo Parade takes place on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. Presented by Experience Kissimmee and Kisselback Ford. This kick-off to rodeo season is one of St. Cloud’s favorite traditions. The parade makes it’s way through downtown St. Cloud celebrating the communities love for rodeo. Founded by the Silver Spurs Riding Club, the rodeo parade has been around for generations. This vibrant February tradition is filled with equestrian groups, marching bands, vintage cars and local organizations, celebrating Florida’s cowboy culture. Since the parade falls this year on Valentine’s Day, participants are encouraged to wear red. The 5th Annual 5K Run for the Cherubs will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Lakefront Park and Marina.
The Run for the Cherubs benefits Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital. Entry fees are: $35 for adults 18+, $40 same day and $28 for child-youth. Fee includes a t-shirt and finisher medal. Prizes include Amazon gift cards and other awards for the top three finishes in each age group. Runners, walkers, strollers and walk-up registrations are welcome. This course is certified by the USA Track and Field Association This race is hosted by Graham J. Cowan Foundation and begins with a 7:45 a.m. race registration. St. Cloud’s Women’s Club presents The Life and Times of Abraham Lincoln on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Cloud Women’s Club, 1014 Massachusetts Ave. This living history re-enactment features Abe Lincoln, his wife Mary Todd Lincoln and Civil War nurse “Mother” Mary Ann Bickerdyke. School is out on Friday, Feb. 20 for Rodeo Day. The City of St. Cloud will hold a Rodeo Day Camp at the St. Cloud Civic Center, 3001 17th St. The camp runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Camp fee is $40 for City residents and $50 for non-residents. OTECH St. Cloud will host an information night on Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the campus at 2901 17th St. for students who want hands on training and career paths. Tour the campus, meet instructors and current students, talk with financial aides and admissions and start your application and financial aid package. Programs include building construction, cosmetology, dental assistant, diesel, medical assistant and pharmacy technician.
St. Cloud Main Street and Granny’s Southern Smokehouse presents Roots & Rhythm Festival on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event will be held at 9th and Pennsylvania Ave, in celebration of Black History Month. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, vendors and a car show. Food trucks and vendor spots are $50 each and fill up quickly – reserve early.
