Martin Luther King Day is a celebration honoring Dr. King’s birthday. Dr. King fought for the rights of all people, and his legacy should inspire us to create a better world for all. Honor his memory by participating in the MLK Day of Service at Hopkins Park.

MLK Day of Service at Hopkins Park will take place on Monday, Jan. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community cleanup event will take place at 620 17th St. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. There will be tasks for all ages. Dress comfortably!

And, keeping the theme of African-American history celebration, vendors are needed for the Black History Festival to be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, presented by Granny’s Southern Smokehouse. For more information, contact Javarus Brown at 407- 593-4227.

 

Shop local! The next Downtown St. Cloud Sidewalk Sale will be this Saturday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. This is a great opportunity to check out our local merchants.

 

The St. Cloud Woman’s Club Heritage Museum will hold their Annual Historic House Tours on Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20th. On Friday from 9-11 a.m. there will be a walking tour of the murals around town. The tour starts at the Heritage Museum, 1012 Massachusetts Ave. Additionally, there will be walking tours at Mount Peace Cemetery on 10th Street at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

On Saturday, Jan. 20, head back to the Museum for a trolly ride to see the historic homes. Historic home tours are at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
