POINCIANA NEWS — Weekend Ham Brown, Reaves Road closures

As part of the Poinciana Boulevard widening project, Ham Brown Road will be closed overnight between Reedy Gate Lane and Reaves Road on Sunday, July 6 and Monday, July 7 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Expect single lane closure on Reaves between Poinciana Boulevard and Ham Brown during these times.  Detours will be in place. 

 

Test your skills in team challenges by attending Library Survivor on Saturday, July 5 from 1-3 p.m. at the Poinciana Library. In addition to team challenges, you will play strategic puzzles to outwit, outplay and outlast your fellow participants. 

Teens ages 12-18 can play Level-Up life-size Clue on Monday, July 7 from 2-3 p.m.  Unravel the mystery in life size! Navigate the giant board, collect clues and solve the case. 

Meet the Garden Expert on Tuesday, July 8 from 1-2 p.m.  Presented by the University of Florida/IAFS master gardener volunteers.  This team will assist you with your gardening questions and challenges. 

Following that class on Tuesday, a Composting 101 Series will be presented en Espanol from 2-3 p.m. 

All Library programs are free and open to the public. The Poinciana Library is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave.

 

EcoLove Nursery and Farm presents EcoLove Family Fun Day on Saturday, July 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4229 Reaves Road. There will be a farmer’s market, barbecue, assorted food vendors, games, line dancing and music. 

 

Did you know that there is a free Zumba class every Friday morning in Poinciana?  Instructor Jose E. Figueroa Jr. holds Zumba classes each Friday from 9-10 a.m. at the Anthony DePalma Center, 395 Marigold Ave.  Check it out!

 

Adults and children are invited to participate in Poinciana Football Kickball Fundraiser on Sunday, July 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Poinciana Community Park, 5109 Allegheny Road.
