Poinciana News — Teen Driver Challenge — a way to save lives

With the fatal traffic accident earlier this month still fresh in our minds, here’s something that will help Poinciana’s teen drivers ages 15-19.

The Teen Driver Challenge is an advanced driver’s course designed to provide young drivers with the skills needed to reduce the chances of being involved in an accident.  The Challenge is one training day totaling 10 hours, including instruction in the classroom and vehicular operations.  The program is offered free of charge.  To be eligible for the course the student must have a learners permit for at least six months.

The next class will be Saturday, Sept. 23 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Osceola County’s Sheriff’s Office training facility in Harmony (3901 Arthur J. Gallagher Blvd.).  Do not let the drive to St. Cloud scare you off — this trip could potentially save lives.

To register your teen, go to https://www.osceolasheriff.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/TDC_Student-Reg-Form.pdf.
