All Osceola Library System Branches in conjunction with Osceola County Emergency Management invites all grade K-12 students to participate in a Severe Weather Awareness Contest. Help promote Severe Weather Awareness Week (Feb. 5-9) by drawing, painting or digitally creating an original work of art of Florida’s sometimes severe weather. To enter this contest, illustrate what you would do to prepare in one of these severe weather categories: lightening, marine hazards and rip currents, thunderstorms and tornadoes, hurricanes and flooding, extreme temperature and wild fire. All art work should include a written safety message to teach others about severe weather safety and preparedness.

The winning artist will be invited to an Osceola County Commissioner’s meeting to celebrate their work, which will be shared across the County on social media and displayed at the winner’s local library.

Original art work must be submitted via Osceola Library System’s Biblioboard Submission page https://osceolalibrary.librariesshare/severev by Saturday, Feb. 3. Visit readyosceola.org for helpful information.
