POINCIANA NEWS — Hopping into Easter in Poinciana!

Here’s a couple of Easter events that are planned for Poinciana. Hop to it if you are interested in being a vendor for either event. 

The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) is planning its Eggstravaganza and Spring Fest on Saturday, April 19 (a day before Easter) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Community Yard behind the Victory Pool (425 Marigold Ave.)  The Eggstravaganza features egg hunts, inflatables, games food trucks, vendors and more. If you are interested in being a vendor, go to www.bit.ly/3Dc7Qn2.

Bunnyville Bash, an event by Polk County Parks and Recreation also takes place the 19th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Poinciana Community Park, (5109 Allegheny Road).  This free event includes photos with the Easter Bunny, games, inflatables, food vendors and activities for all ages. For more information and vendor opportunities, call Polk County Parks and Recreation at 863-534-6911.

 

AARP Foundation Tax–Aide provides tax consulting with several preparation options.  This service is free of charge, with special focus on those over 50 or have low to moderate income.  On Mondays through April 15  from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tax–Aide will be at the Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.)  These services will be available in both English and Spanish. Appointments are required.  To make an appointment, call 863-427-0900.

 

Alice in Wonderland:  Young Actors Company, an event by Osceola Arts and UpSurge Dance Company, is for ages 8-14.  This fun and fast paced retelling keeps the excitement of the classic tale with memorable songs while adding new twists, making it an interesting journey for young performers. 

If your child would like to be part of the magic, tuition is $65. Rehearsal dates are Saturday, Mar. 29, Apr. 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, and 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on all dates. For more information, call 407-724-3298.

 

Osceola County is working with CFX, FTE and FDOT to advance transportation projects aimed at easing traffic in Poinciana.  In addition to the ongoing widening of Poinciana Boulevard, other projects in progress include: US 17-92 at Pleasant Hill Road and Quail Road, improving flow at this busy intersection; Poinciana Parkway extension – a CFX project designed to provide additional relief; and the Southport Expressway connector, a proposed 15-mile expressway to reduce congestion on Cypress Parkway.
