POINCIANA NEWS — A basket-full of Easter event ideas

Add these to your Easter basket ahead of the April 20 celebration of renewal.

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital presents a fun-filled event with the Easter bunny on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.  There will be free pictures with the Easter bunny, free face painting, a teddy bear clinic and an exhibit by the Osceola Sheriff’s Department. Register by calling 888-253-8117.

An Easter “SonRise” Festival takes place on Saturday, Apr.12 from 12-5 p.m. at 140 Pompei Dr.  This free fun filled event features a live show, an Easter Egg Hunt, vendor booths including food vendors and more. If you are a small business owner, food truck owner or would like to promote your business, contact Mrs. Torres at 407-944-1378 or email YTorres@phaflorida.org.

Bunnyville Bash, an event by Polk County Parks and Recreation takes place on Saturday, Apr. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Poinciana Community Park, (5109 Allegheny Road).  This free event includes photos with the Easter Bunny, games, inflatables, food vendors and activities for all ages. For more information and vendor opportunities, call Polk County Parks and Recreation at 863-534-6911.

The Association of Poinciana Village’s (APV) LifeStyles is planning its Eggstravaganza and Spring Fest on Saturday, Apr. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Community Yard behind the Victory Pool, 425 Marigold Ave.  The Eggstravaganza features egg hunts, inflatables, games food trucks, vendors and more.

The kickoff event for Poinciana Connections, a business leads group, will be on Thursday, April 24 at 8:30 a.m. at Saborealo Bakery (926 Cypress Pkwy.)  Come ready with your 60-second intro and lots of business cards. All of the resurfacing of the Vance Harmon Park sporting courts have been completed.  That includes the tennis courts, double basketball courts and handball court. Helping to keep Poinciana beautiful!

 

Applications are available now for the 2025 Poinciana Council Scholarship.  This year, the Poinciana Council Board of Directors will award (at minimum) 2 $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who reside in the 34758, 34759 or 34746 zip codes, and 2 - $1,000 scholarships to students already enrolled in a technical education program, two or four-year degree program or Master’s program at a post-secondary educational institution. All winners will be honored at a luncheon at Poinciana High School on Tuesday, April 22. All applications must be submitted by Monday, March 31.
