Lake Kissimmee named among country’s top bass fishing destinations

Lake Kissimmee in south Osceola County, has been named to FishingBooker’s list of the top 10 Bass Fishing Destinations in the U.S. for 2025.

While the entire Kissimmee chain, from Lake Tohopekaliga and East Lake Toho at the north down through the Kissimmee River basin to Lake Okeechobee attracts bass fishermen—including the pro tours where the best in the world compete annually— Lake Kissimmee made this list, chosen based on the reputation among anglers, history of producing impressive catches, and the unique fishing experiences offered.

Lake Okeechobee, and Lake Seminole near the Florida/Georgia border, were named from the Sunshine State. In its synopsis of Lake Kissimmee, FishingBooker, a platform for connecting anglers and fishing guides, wrote this: “Lake Kissimmee is a haven for bass anglers seeking both trophy-sized largemouth and consistent action. Its waters teem with bass, making it a prime destination for those aiming to hook multiple fish in a single outing. Anglers often find success using shiners, the local bait of choice, or artificial lures for maximum catch rates. Known for its smart and cunning bass, this lake offers anglers a challenging and rewarding experience. The unique behavioral patterns of the bass in this lake make for an exciting day on the water.”
