It can be a little hard to explain what Old Town, on West U.S. 192 in Kissimmee, is to someone unfamiliar.
It’s a shopping area. And it’s an entertainment complex, with roller coasters and go-karts at Fun Spot next door. And it’s a place to get not-often-found foods. And it’s a place, where if you come on the right day, to find classic cars and a farmer’s market.
It’s got big fans, and they can best describe what it is.
Starting this week, Old Town is holding a contest to identify its “biggest fans”, and give them a chance to win cold-hard cash.
The “Old Town Biggest Fan Contest”, started on Monday and offers cash prizes worth up to $4,000. To participate, guests can grab a hand fan from select Old Town merchants and scan the QR code to register for a chance to win one of two $1,000 prizes and ten $200 prizes. The contest is open to Florida residents 18 years or age or older.
The drawing runs through Labor Day on Sept. 6. Winners will be announced during a celebration on Saturday, Sept. 11. A classic car show, live music, entertainment, and more will bring the close to the end of summer and kick off Old Town’s fall festivities, including a Corvette car show, Halloween, and more.
“The Old Town Biggest Fan contest is a fun way for guests to visit and interact with the property,” says Vice President and General Manager Thearon Scurlock. “We strive to provide a variety of entertainment and events for all ages and now guests will have an opportunity to win some money this summer.”
After guests pick up a fan and register, they’re encouraged to check out Old Town’s 60 unique shops, restaurants, bars and attractions. It’s also the home for weekly events, car shows, or free concerts throughout the week.
