Osceola History will present a new event, a Sip & Stroll at Pioneer Village, on Saturday, May 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This is a fundraiser to benefit Osceola History and its mission to preserve and share Osceola County’s history with residents and visitors.
During the evening guests can enjoy food, refreshments and live music while strolling the grounds of Pioneer Village in Kissimmee. The event also will include a silent auction.
“Due to COVID safety concerns, we made the difficult decision to cancel our primary fundraiser, Dine with the Departed, usually held each March,” said Executive Director Kimberly Murray. “By hosting this new event outdoors at Pioneer Village, we can provide ample space for social distancing and protect the safety of our guests, volunteers and staff.”
The Sip & Stroll will allow contributors to see first-hand what their donations support. Pioneer Village features original 19th-century buildings and replicas of buildings that once stood in Osceola County. These buildings help tell the story of the county’s earliest settlers. During the Sip & Stroll, volunteer docents will be available to share the history of the families and buildings represented in the village.
Osceola History is a nonprofit organization established in 1949. The organization operates Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek and the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum. Like many nonprofits, Osceola History saw a reduction in funding during the pandemic. The Sip & Stroll fundraiser will help offset some of those losses and support continued operations, future programs and activities.
Tickets are $50 per person. Tickets may be purchased online at www.osceolahistory.org or send a check made payable to Osceola County Historical Society, PO Box 421996, Kissimmee FL 34742. Reservations must be received by Monday, April 12.
Events sponsorships are available at the following levels: $500 bronze, $1000 silver, and $5000 gold. For more information about sponsorships and related benefits, contact Executive Director Kimberly Murray at kimberly@osceolahistory.org or call 407-396-8644, ext. 8.
