The Osceola County Health Department’s 2012 Osceola County Community Health Assessment released earlier this month identified four objectives as the highest priorities for health improvement in the county.

The Osceola School District will host the Kindergarten Roundup May 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at all public elementary schools for parents of children who will be at least 5 years old on or before Sept. 1.  

For Kissimmee dentist Robert Fischer, the tragedy that happened near the finish line at Monday’s Boston Marathon hit close to home — he ran the race and finished about 15 minutes before a pair of explosions rocked the event, killing three innocent bystanders and injuring as many as 175.

For Renae Cicchinelli, a former track and soccer coach at St. Cloud High School, the race is close to home.

Toho Water Authority is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory for residents served by the Pleasant Hill Lakes Water Treatment Plant due to a low chlorine residual detected in the distribution system. 

This advisory includes residents living in the Eagle Lakes, Pleasant Hill Lakes, and Parkview at Lakeshore Subdivisions.
