For the first time, members of the host utility at the annual Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo brought home championships.In a competition that measures safety, skill and speed, linemen from Kissimmee Utility Authority bested 58 teams from across the nation recently to take home the top prize in the American Public Power Association’s 13th annual national championship.

The Museum of Military History is celebrating the first year in its new headquarters at 5210 W. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee, with an invitation for the public to visit the museum March 30-31 for cake and coffee while visiting the museum.

The city of Kissimmee Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities Department is offering new cooking classes for youngsters.

Stephan Roberts, of Kissimmee, has been named to the Plymouth State University dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester.

Old Town officials said due to successful turnouts to its current events, the attraction is expanding them.
