After a three-year absence, the Kissimmee/St. Cloud Senior Games will resume Sept. 10-17 at several sites in Osceola County.

Adults age 50 and over are eligible to participate in the games, which feature competition in both athletic and table games events.

Archery, track and field, basketball, race walk, swimming, pickle ball, tennis, shuffleboard, softball, golf, cycling and horse shoes are the athletic events. Table games are poker, Mah Jongg, cribbage, billiards and bridge.

The Kissimmee Convention & Visitors Bureau is sponsoring the event in conjunction with the Kissimmee, St. Cloud and Osceola County parks and recreation departments, the Osceola Council on Aging, Good Samaritan Society Kissimmee Village and the town of Celebration.

Participants at the Kissimmee/St. Cloud games can advance to state competition in Polk County in December and to national competitions.

Osceola County hosted the senior games for 15 years  before the recent break, due in part to the economic slowdown.

For more information, contact the city of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department at 407-518-2504 or at www.kissimmee.org.
