The city of St. Cloud Parks and Recreation staff is preparing for April’s events. The following activities will be offered for the enjoyment of the community:
• Movie at the Lakefront: This year-round monthly program is free to the community. A family movie is shown at Lakefront Park on a giant inflatable movie screen. April’s movie will be “Tangled,” and it will be shown April 8 at sunset.
• Clean Marina Act Award: An award presentation is set for April 8 starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Boat Basin. Representatives from Florida Department of Environmental Protection will be giving the city of St. Cloud the award during a short ceremony. The Florida Clean Marina Program is a voluntary designation program with a proactive approach to environmental stewardship.
• Earth Dayz-Arbor Day: This observance will be April 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Water Tower Park, 3800 Pine Tree Drive.
• Kids Night Out: This program offers supervised care and fun activities for children 6-11 while parents enjoy an evening to themselves. Kids Night Out is set for Saturday, April 16, from 7 to 11 p.m., at the St. Cloud Civic Center, 3001 17th St. Cost is $10 per child.
• Easter egg hunts: The city’s two egg hunts are set for April 23. The first one will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Peghorn Park. Activities include arts and crafts, face-painting, pastries and juice and games and prizes. Children also will be able to meet with the Easter Bunny and have their photograph taken for $5. Egg hunt age groups: Ages 2-3 at 9:30 a.m. and ages 4-6 at 10 a.m.
The second egg hunt of the day, the Robert Hopkins Easter Egg Hunt, will be at Hopkins Park from 2 to 4 p.m.
Cost is $2 per child at each egg hunt. All children are invited to bring their baskets and prepare for fun and safe Easter egg hunts in St. Cloud.
• Little Ladies Tea Party: The city’s Third Annual Little Ladies Tea Party is set for Saturday, April 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m, at the St. Cloud Marina Building, 1104 Lake-shore Blvd. Guests will enjoy delicious snacks and tea while dressed elegantly and seated at elegantly decorated tables. Tickets are $5 per person and are available now at the Civic Center.
