Osceola County Sheriff's Office detectives have charged Jimmy Dwayne Hutto, 49, of 221 McKean St., Kissimmee, with manslaughter.

The investigation began Feb. 16 at 5:45 p.m. when Sheriff's Office deputies responded to 5160 Apollo Ave. in Holopaw. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Hutto, who appeared to be intoxicated. He told deputies he was with a friend, Huey Tracy Goff, 53, and that they had spent the day together. As Hutto and Goff were getting back in the car, Hutto picked up a 20 gauge shotgun that was in the passenger's side of the vehicle and handed it to Goff; the gun went off, hitting Goff in the chest. Goff died at the scene.

After further investigation, deputies discovered Hutto was a convicted felon, and later that night he was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Detectives on Feb. 18 then charged Hutto with manslaughter and he was booked into the Osceola County Jail with no bond.
