It is just after midnight at the Grand Floridian Hotel at Walt Disney World.

The last firework cinders dropped harmlessly against the backdrop of Cinderella's Castle more than two hours ago, following the premiere of a brand new Disney night time show,  “The Magic, The Memories, and You!”

It's an impressive show, with the Disney icon castle awash in colors and photos of Disney guests, the images of actual Disney visitors who were taking in the sights of the theme park just a few hours earlier. The castle is actually ablaze in a projected fire before the show comes to a conclusion.

But that was just the teaser, the Ritz Cracker with a bit of chopped liver if you will,  as several hundred media representatives from across the nation get ready for the main course, the pheasant under glass, the newest truffle on the high seas: the chirstening cruise of the Disney Dream.

The caravan of buses will depart Walt Disney World at 8 a.m. for the trip to Disney Cruise Line Terminal at Port Canaveral and some time after 9 a.m we will get our first look at the 14-passenger deck (that translates to 4,000 passengers) Disney Dream.

It will be several hours though before the ship, the third and by far the largest in the Disney Cruise Line, begins its journey to Disney's private Bahama's island, Castaway Cay. The christening event won't even happen until 10:40 a.m.  and we don't begin to board until 12:30 p.m. Before that there is breakfast somewhere, on the bus or at the terminal and lunch right after we board. And lots of alcohol as well, most likely before we finally set sail at 4:45 p.m.

The hard part will be getting up at 7 a.m. Hard to believe people actually get up that early on a regular basis.

I could tell you more about some of the other preview stuff that has already happened on Day One of this Disney odyssey (including the new 3D Star Tours attraction will be opening in May, and some other fresh details about the new Fantasyland).

But you don't want me to sleep late and miss the bus now, do you?

So now it is time to sleep,  perchance to Disney Dream.
