DAVIS - Juanita B. Davis, 82, of Melbourne, FL passed away June 12, 2009, at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL.
Born in Jacksonville, FL she moved to Eau Gallie (Melbourne) from Sanford in 1959 and was a lifelong resident of Florida. Mrs. Davis was a former co-owner of Davis Funeral Home in Melbourne, FL and had worked for Dr. Sessions and Kissimmee Hospital in the 1950’s. She graduated from Osceola High School in 1946.                                                                                         
Mrs. Davis was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, serving on the parish council, Council of Catholic Women, former women of the year, active on Thanksgiving & Christmas baskets for Social Concerns, American Cancer Society where she volunteered for many years in charge of the Medical Equipment Loan Closet and helped coordinate transportation for chemo patients,  Garden Club, Women’s Club, Friends of the Eau Gallie Library, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion, Eau Gallie Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Marion Breese; sisters, Margaret Tyner, Ruth E. Breese and Lois Littlefield and her brother, Marion Breese.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, J.  Harold Davis of Melbourne; daughters, Margaret Ann Davis of Melbourne, Patti Davis Thogersen and her husband Rick, of Port St. Lucie;  granddaughter, Ashley Melynn; two great grandchildren, Audrey Lee and Gunner William, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on June 15, 2009 from 5:00 PM  to 8:00 PM, at the Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 North Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne with a vigil service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated June 16, 2009, 10:00 AM at Ascension Catholic Church.  Committal Service and interment will be 1:30 PM, June 16, 2009 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee, FL.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to William Childs Hospice House, 381 Med Plex Parkway, Palm Bay, FL 32907.
Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City and Young & Prill Chapels.
