A Kissimmee man is being held without bond for allegedly attacking the woman who informed him she was pregnant with his child.

Juan Almanzar-Rojas, 22, of Enclave Court, was arrested Feb. 3 after the woman was treated for her injuries at Florida Hospital Kissimmee. She is not being identified, as she is the alleged victim of a domestic battery.

The incident occurred Feb. 2 when the woman stopped by Almanzar-Rojas’ house to tell him she was pregnant.

She told Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies she had been in a sexual relationship with Almanzar-Rojas for two years.

According to her statement to police, Almanzar-Rojas got angry and began insulting and threatening her. He then allegedly told her she could “take care of” the pregnancy or he would do it for her.

She told deputies she assumed he meant she should get an abortion or he would “take matters into his own hands.”

Almanzar-Rojas then allegedly attacked her, grabbing her by the neck to the point she couldn’t breathe, then punching her in the back of the head and her ribs and stomach area.

To get away, the woman told police she head-butted Almanzar-Rojas and quickly left the house as he was still threatening to hurt her in order to terminate the pregnancy.

Deputies located Almanzar-Rojas Feb. 3 at his home on Enclave Court, where he was arrested and charged with domestic battery by strangulation and aggravated battery on a pregnant woman. He was transported to the Osceola County Jail.

The woman told police Almanzar-Rojas had been violent with her at least 10 times during their relationship, including when she was previously pregnant. She said Almanzar-Rojas had threatened to hurt her if she even told law enforcement about the alleged abuse.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, there had never been any domestic violence injunctions between Almanzar-Rojas and the woman.
