Several citizens called in to report hearing shots in the area. Police have found shell casings of an unknown caliber, but have not yet determined if anyone was actually shot and are checking local hospitals for gunshot victims. Spokesperson Stacie Miller said the incident is "a possible drive-by."

No ambulances or other medical emergency personnel had arrived on site by noon.

The north end of McLaren Circle from Benita south to the traffic circle is blocked off due to the police activity.
