A Kissimmee man has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer after pointing a gun at a policeman.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers were in the area of John Young Parkway and Lake Tivoli apartment community looking for a loitering and prowling suspect, when an officer located a suspect matching the description of the prowler and attempted to make contact with the suspect, later identified as Carlos Alfredo Hernandez Torres, 18.

 

According to police reports, Torres turned from the officer and pulled a revolver out of his waistband and pointed it directly at the officer. He did not fire the weapon at the officer and fled.
A canine unit led officers to a home in in The Gables apartment community on Bermuda Lakes Lane. Officers located Torres sitting near the top of a staircase, took him into custody without incident and charged him with aggravated assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest without violence and tampering with physical evidence. He was transported to the Osceola County Jail where he was being held on no bond.
