Matthew Milton, the former St. Cloud High School athletic director who was arrested June 8, allegedly partnered a drug dealer with an undercover agent at Soldier City Saloon in downtown St. Cloud, according to police reports.

The St. Cloud Police Department utilized a female undercover agent April 6 to conduct an undercover operation at the bar, located at 1018 Pennsylvania Ave.

The female undercover officer told Milton, 30, during a conversation in the bar that she was looking for powder cocaine, reports said. Milton told her a friend was bringing “party favors” (cocaine) for him and his friends.

A short Hispanic man, whom St. Cloud police have not identified pending an outstanding warrant, connected with Milton and told the agent he had an eight-ball of cocaine in route and made a hand gesture to mimic snorting an item through his nose, according to the incident report.

The man then gave the agent his phone number, which the agent used April 18 to try and purchase cocaine from him. The man told the agent he was out of cocaine but had marijuana.

The agent then purchased $20 worth of marijuana April 19 from the man at his home.

Warrants were obtained for both Milton and the unidentified man.

Milton, of Winter Springs, was arrested at St. Cloud High School June 8, the last day of the school year. He was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sell or deliver and sale and delivery of cannabis.

Milton was reassigned by the Osceola County School District and will not be in contact with any students until the incident is resolved, spokeswoman Dana Schafer said.

St. Cloud police released the report amid concern from parents that Milton, who also was the wrestling coach for the St. Cloud Bulldogs, was selling drugs on campus or to students.

According to Osceola County School District officials, Milton was hired as a physical education teacher at the high school in 2006. In January 2010, Milton was promoted to dean of students. He was head wrestling coach and also coached golf for the high school.

He was promoted to athletic director in 2011.
