Two Celebration teens were arrested after authorities alleged the pair shot a BB gun into an occupied vehicle.
On May 17, Osceola County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested Max Thomas Taylor, 13, and Brian Elijah Cano, 14, who were charged with shooting into occupied conveyance, aggravated battery and criminal mischief.
The investigation began on April 24 at approximately 6:22 p.m., when deputies responded to a home on Wilde Drive in reference to a possible shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim, who said she was driving on Wilde Drive toward her home, when she heard a loud pop and felt something strike her face. Her driver side window was shattered and had a hole in the bottom half.
She was not injured during the incident, but turned around to check on her two sons sitting in the back seat. One of her sons got out of the car and began chasing after a possible suspect, described as a black male. He was unable to locate him, but got a detailed description.
Detectives were able to identify Cano, of 417 Arbor Court, and Taylor, of 1036 Waterside Drive, students at Celebration High School, as possible suspects, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain said.
After interviewing individuals who had knowledge of the incident, Cano was identified as the shooter and Taylor was identified as being at the scene and withholding information from detectives. Detectives recovered the BB gun used in the incident.
Both juveniles were booked into the Orange County Juvenile Detention Center.
