Johnny Lee Hilton was found guilty Tuesday of the 1989 murder of septuagenarian Bertha Hemminghaus after being linked by DNA evidence in 2011 to her brutal slaying.

A jury found Hilton, 54, guilty of first-degree murder and sexual battery with a deadly weapon.

Officials and dignitaries from Valencia College, the University of Central Florida, and several branches of Osceola County government were on hand on April 11 for the dedication of Valencia College’s Building 4 on the Osceola campus.

Valencia-Osceola Campus President Kathleen Plinske welcomed guests, including past and present members of the college’s Board of Trustees, to the event.
