The Kissimmee City Commission unanimously approved ferryboat transportation on Lake Tohopekaliga, along with the $150,000 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation, but isn’t using the funds right away.

Thanks to Tropical Storm Andrea, a tornado watch is in effect for parts of Central Florida that include Osceola County until 10 p.m. as the storm's feeder bands begin spinning into the area later today. Tornado Warnings were in effect briefly this morning for eastern Osceola County into Brevard and this afternoon near Kenansville and Yeehaw Junction, but the county's Emergency Operations Center did not receive word of any touchdowns.
