"With this delay, I didn't expect that so many of them would stay, and when we came out of the locker room and saw them in the stands, it was something we won't forget. So, to the people who waited three hours or more, I want to dedicate this victory to them.
"In the first half, we couldn't connect our shape and Sporting Kansas City found a lot of spaces. Then in the second half, we reshaped things, the boys started adjusting some lines and tactical movements in the middle and we started flying in the game."
The victory extends Orlando's unbeaten run at home and provides crucial momentum heading into a grueling week ahead. The challenge now shifts to Southern California, where the Lions will look to advance to the quarterfinals of the Champions Cup on Wednesday at Dignity Health Park. Following that cross-country trip, Orlando must quickly regroup for a clash Saturday at Nashville SC.
Three games in a week with coast-to-coast travel from Los Angeles to Music City presents a significant test of squad depth and resilience.
