It’s about time for those Magic-al words—the Osceola Magic are again the NBA G League Playoffs.
They’ll be at the Silver Spurs Arena for the playoff opener next week, and like the last two seasons, they can clinch No. 1 Eastern Conference if this week goes well.
The Magic (25-9) will host a first-round game on Wednesday, April 1. Tickets are now available at OsceolaMagic.com/playoffs.
Seeding won’t be locked in until Saturday night. Osceola play at the Motor City Cruise (20-13, currently fifth in the East) on Friday and Saturday.
The Magic clinched home court for the first, and likely second, round of the playoffs with a 124-107 win over the Delaware Blue Coats (15-18) Saturday night in the regular season home finally, despite Teddy Allen’s 46 points for Delaware.
Lester Quiñones scored 33 points for the second-straight game. With seven made threes, Quiñones passed former Lakeland Magic guard Gabe York’s mark of 123 for most three-pointers in a single season and now sits at 130. Colin Castleton recorded his eighth double-double of the season with 27 points and 15 rebounds. The former Florida standout tied Josh Magette for third-most double-doubles in franchise history with 18.
Wednesday night, Osceola clinched at least a top-two seed in the East with a 129-120 win at the College Park Skyhawks (13-21). Phillip Wheeler scored a season-high 30 points for the Magic on 9-of-14 shooting from the field. Castleton recorded his fifth-straight double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Reece Beekman dished out a career-high 13 assists.
Here’s the scenario: the Magic lead the Greensboro Swarm (23-11) by two games. The Swarm, who play College Park twice at home beat the Magic in their two season meetings, giving them a tiebreaker. One Osceola win or one Greensboro loss gives the Magic the No. 1 seed in the East. The Cleveland Charge (22-12) and Raptors 905 (22-12) are also in the mix, but Osceola has the head-to-head tiebreaker on them.

With either one win or one Cleveland loss this week —and obviously a win in the playoff opener—Osceola would also host an Eastern Conference semifinal on Friday, April 3. The conference winner-take-all game is Saturday, April 5.
The NBA G League best-of-3 series would be held April 8, 10 and 13 (if necessary).
