Where’s OLLie? Here’s where to meet the Library where it’s at

Last month, the Osceola Library System debuted OLLie, a new fully equipped Osceola Library Link van to serve as a Library on the Move to parts of the county not near an existing brick-and-mortar library.

The van offers a range of features, including a collection of books, games and toys, a TV display, as well as e Chromebook Laptops for tutoring, Wi-Fi hotspots capable of supporting 100 devices, and on-site printing services. OLLie is powered by a solar energy panel that powers an onboard generator.

This week, the Library announced where OLLie will make stops, twice a month to bring library services, collections, events, and education directly to the heart of the community. Those locations are:

Holopaw Community Center (8801 Community Center Road), 1st Wednesday & 4th Saturday, 12–4 p.m.
Fire Station 75 (7701 Funie Steed Road), 3rd Saturday & 4th Tuesday, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Fire Station 67 (4150 Boggy Creek Road), 3rd Thursday & 4th Friday, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Oren Brown Community Park (3511 Baker Dr, Kissimmee), 2nd Saturday & 3rd Tuesday, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., starting in February.

During these community stops resident can sign up for library cards, receive hands-on instruction in library resources, enjoy storytime and other favorite programs for all ages, and explore popular collections tailored to each neighborhood. Community stops can be a pickup location for requested items.

“These sites were thoughtfully selected to connect with our rapidly growing communities and enhance library access across the county,” Osceola Library officials said.
