Arrest made in May 20 BVL Checkers robbery

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office Wednesday morning took down a man suspected in a fast food restaurant armed robbery from May 20. It was the second time in two days deputies executed an arrest warrant in the early morning hours.

Deputies arrested Ruchamo Pierre-Jeune, 26, and charged him with armed robbery in connection with the incident at a Checkers on east Osceola Parkway.

On the night of May 20, there was a report that a masked male entered the restaurant armed with a firearm, demanded money from the register, then fled on foot. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and later identified Pierre-Jeune as the suspect.

An arrest warrant for armed robbery was obtained, and executed Wednesday morning at his residence on North Lake Court, about a mile from the Checkers in question. Pierre-Jeune was placed under arrest for his active warrant.

Pierre-Jeune's only arrest record in Osceola County was a 2020 charge of fleeing and eluding a police officer in connection with a traffic stop, but the case wasn't prosecuted.
