Despite this not being a travel period, and prices dipping the first part of last week, they ricocheted back up midweek by as much as 30 cents per gallon, leading to a price increase for the week of about 12 cents.
The average price statewide is $3.17 per gallon of regular unleaded; in Osceola County they arrived at $3.22 on Monday, higher than this time last month ($3.16) and last year ($3.10).

"Florida gas prices continue to follow the same pattern of rising and falling within about the same range every week or two," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA - The Auto Club Group. "Oil prices showed some weakness this past week, but not to a degree that would signal any significant relief at the pump."
Crude oil prices have declined a total of 9% through the past three weeks. On Friday, the U.S. price for crude oil settled at $71 per barrel. That's down from $72.53/b the week before, and the 2025 high of $78.71 in mid-January.
