An 87-year-old man died Thursday morning in a house fire in St. Cloud, city officials have reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but appears to be electrical.
Fire crews responded shortly after 7:30 a.m. to a residence in the 1300 block of 4th Street. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from the residence and were told there was a man inside. They pulled the man from the residence and began lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead on scene. There were no other injuries
The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating, and the Red Cross is working with the occupants of an adjoining residence to provide temporary housing.
