COVID-19 testing to return to FDOH-Osceola campus Jan. 25

On Monday, Jan. 25, Florida Department of Health in Osceola County (FDOH-Osceola) COVID-19 testing will relocate back from Valencia College to its campus at 1875 Fortune Road in Kissimmee. Drive through testing will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon.

St. Cloud building and planning lobby closed due to COVID-19

The St. Cloud customer lobby for the Building and Planning departments is closed until Jan. 25. A department employee tested positive for COVID, and out of an abundance of caution for staff and residents, the Department will be closed for 10 days.

Osceola County commissioners vote to demolish Star Motel

After racking up more than $2 million in code enforcement fines, the Osceola County Commission on Monday voted to demolish the embattled Star Motel.   A demolition date had not been set when the commission voted on Monday.

Road resurfacing projects set for South Hoagland Boulevard area

Osceola County officials said that the following roads are tentatively scheduled for resurfacing from Jan. 14-21. •Temple Drive: South John Young Parkway to Shingle Creek Court. •Shingle Creek Court: South Hoagland Blvd to cul-de-sac. •Knowles Boulevard: South Hoagland Blvd to end of pavement.

Help Now helping more: New home will better serve domestic violence victims

With Help Now Of Osceola’s new home in downtown Kissimmee, comes some new amenities that will help to extend its reach to help victims of domestic violence. So what’s new? There’s a food pantry. There are five themed counseling rooms. And now, it even has its own courtroom.
