The Osceola County Office of Emergency Management received state approval for updates to both the Osceola County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) and the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP). The county LMS is a multi-jurisdictional collaborative plan that identifies hazards.

Third school district employee arrested this month for sex crimes

Three Osceola County School District employees have been arrested in the past two weeks on sex crimes. The latest was Bradley Scott Linville, a dean at Harmony Middle School in St. Cloud, who was arrested Wednesday on three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a 13-year-old student.

Mayor Receives Home Rule Hero Award

City of St. Cloud Mayor Nathan Blackwell recently was chosen as the recipient of the Florida League of Cities’ Home Rule Hero award. The award was presented to Mayor Blackwell during the Tri-County League of Cities meeting on May 20.

Preliminary subdivison plans approved

Three preliminary subdivision plans were approved, albeit with special conditions, during the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners Meeting on May 17. Officials approved a request for a preliminary subdivision plan for Westside Hills consisting of 270 lots and 28 tracts on approximately 77.
