County Manager gets raise; proposes admin changes

The Osceola County Commission Monday approved a raise for County Manager Don Fisher to an annual salary of $285,000. The 20 percent raise, from $236,000, is retroactive to Oct. 1, 2021, the start of the county’s fiscal year.

County street repaving projects later this week, month

Osceola County will be repaving roads in several locations beginning this week through the next two weeks. Much of the work will occur in neighborhoods along Neptune Road. Work will be performed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week.

Kitchen fire at Thacker Avenue apartments displaces residents

The Red Cross is now aiding residents from over a dozen units of a Kissimmee apartment complex after an overnight fire. A fire in a kitchen appliance, possibly an oven, caused smoke damage to units at the Calirosa Apartments, off Thacker Avenue just south of Osceola Parkway.

This week got off to a much quieter start in the Osceola County School District’s high schools than it ended last week.
