If you live or work around Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital, you may have noticed a commotion in the area Wednesday morning.
The hospital and its community partners conducted a full-scale emergency management exercise on the hospital campus. The simulation featured an emergency involving one of Orlando Health Air Care’s medical helicopters and the hospital's helipad that required teamwork among Orlando Health team members and responders from Fire Rescue, law enforcement and security.
While hospital officials say the Air Care team hasn't had such an accident since launching in the 1980s, Orlando Health continues to train and prepare members for future potential ground and air emergencies.
