Want to get a feel for the inner workings of Kissimmee’s government operations?

The city has opened the application process for the 2025 School of Government. Over nine Wednesday 5:30 p.m. meetings starting March 26, the city will provide an exclusive opportunity for those who live, work, or own a business within the city limits to learn about local government operations, engage with city leaders, and understand how to best utilize government services.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 28. Apply online at kissimmee.gov/schoolofgovernment. Address verification can be completed at kissimmee.gov/citylimits.

The program will feature presentations from city leaders, providing insights into the roles and functions of various City departments. Participants will also have opportunities to meet with leaders from key city agencies like Toho Water Authority and Kissimmee Utility Authority. Upon completion of the program, participants will be invited to attend a graduation dinner and will receive a certificate of completion.

DUVCW/SUVCW donate to First Nature, McCormick Institute

Members of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War Louisa May Alcott Tent 11 and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War LL Mitchell Camp 4 of St. Cloud recently presented donation checks to First Nature Foundation and McCormick Research Institute. The money was raised at the 4th Annual Settlers Christmas Ball in December as part of a veterans’ project.
