Kissimmee Police officer charged with soliciting a minor, relieved of duty

A Kissimmee Police Department officer has been arrested after an Osceola County Sheriff's Department investigation showed he had sexual conversations with a minor and paid for pornographic photographs of the victim.

Dariel Javier Quiles-Davila, 25, was arrested Tuesday and charged with eight counts of possession of photo/video of sexual performance by a child, along with solicitation of a minor for unlawful sexual conduct and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

A KPD spokesperson said Quiles-Davila, who was hired in March 2021 and was assigned as an officer to the Patrol Division, has been relieved of his duties. KPD said it could not release further information about the active criminal investigation.

"The Department is fully cooperating with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation," the city said.

According to the Sheriff's Office, it was notified by the 9th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office of an incident involving a Law Enforcement Officer soliciting a minor for nude photographs in exchange for payment. The Sheriff's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) began investigating, and obtained a sworn statement from the victim, which led to the officer's identity. The victim met the officer in October of 2023 during a service call, they stated. Based on evidence and disclosures from that interview, the ICAC issued search warrants for the victim and suspect's social media accounts.

A review of those accounts showed Quiles-Davila, whose LinkedIn profile shows is a former Marine, did have pornographic photographs of the minor within his social media account, along with evidence of payments and sexual conversations with the minor, the Sheriff's release said. Quiles-Davila was interviewed Tuesday, after which detectives made the arrest. Quiles-Davila was booked into the Osceola County Jail. He made an initial appearance in front of a judge Wednesday afternoon, where the judge issued him a $25,000 bond.
