A 34-year-old Kissimmee man died in an accident Tuesday on Interstate 4 that tied up traffic into the mid-morning hours.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 1:15 a.m. the Toyota Tundra he was a passenger in rear-ended a tractor trailer at Mile Marker 65 near Osceola Parkway. The Tundra swerved left and right, the crash report said, but collided with the rear of the semi-truck. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene; the 26-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. FHP reports show both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The crash, which reduced I-4 East to one lane and resulted in a six-mile backup into Polk County into Tuesday's rush hour, remains under investigation.
