Kissimmee High School Class of 1967 celebrates reunion

The Kissimmee High School Class of 1967 held its annual reunion Dec. 8-10, 2023. The theme was “A Year of Thanksgiving, It’s Time to Celebrate our Love, Friendship, and Unity.”

Friday evening was the meet, greet, and eat gathering, Saturday afternoon was the chit chat session of thanksgiving, and Saturday evening was the KHS Class of ‘67 Masked Singers event, an impressive event of songs and costumes. The costumes were the creations of each participant, who sang songs of their choice.

Sunday was the grand finale and blowout. Mrs. Priscilla Chester-Barrington and Mrs. Mildred Best-White, two former KHS teachers joined the celebration for a visitation the Class of 1967 said it would never forget.

“The reunion was a grand event, and in love, we reach beyond the walls of our class to wish the KHS alumni a Happy New Year,” said Diane Tisdale.

Many of those who attended Kissimmee High School in those years were among the first to help integrate Osceola High School in the years 1966-68. OHS recently honored Charles Martin, the first African-American OHS graduation (1966) who was a classmate of many of the KHS celebrants.
