Joe Etter, Deputy Director of Human Resources and Risk Management for the City of St. Cloud, has been named the Preferred Risk Management Professional of the Year for 2021.
During his tenure with the City of St. Cloud since 2016, Etter has demonstrated consistent and outstanding performance in the practice of Risk Management as well as service to the Risk Management profession. His accomplishments include saving the city money by changing the worker’s compensation insurance program, re-establishing the Safety Committee, developing safety policies and procedures, and aggressively pursuing claims to achieve positive outcomes. He also has conducted thorough accident investigations to determine cause and corrective action to prevent reoccurrence, provided safety training to staff, performed safety inspections, and continues to promote the advancement of Risk Management to protect personnel and property for the City.
“We are very proud of Joe for receiving this award,” said City Manager Bill Sturgeon. “He has done a great job for the City, and it’s nice to see him being recognized for his service and professionalism on a national level.”
