The City of St. Cloud’s Semi-Annual City-Wide Garage Sale is set for this weekend, April 19-21. Any resident or business in city limits can hold a garage sale without a city permit. See if you can rescue another man’s treasure!

 

The City of St. Cloud’s Borrow Pit Pond Fishing Derby is set for Saturday, April 20 at 8 a.m. at the Borrow Pit Pond on Budinger Avenue across from St. Cloud Elementary School (2701 Budinger Ave.) The cost is $10 per child. The agegroupsare:tadpoles 3-5 years old; half pints—6-8; and minnows—9-12. Participants must bring their own fishing pole and tackle, bait will be provided. For more information, call 407-957-7943.

Later in the morning, join the Earth Day celebration at the Veterans Memorial Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and enjoy eco-presentations, local vendors, crafts, food trucks, face painting and more.

 

Camps! Registration opens Monday, April 22 for the City of St. Cloud’s Kids Summer Camp. Camp runs from Monday, June 3 to Friday, Aug. 9 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center. Camp is for ages 5 to 12 and the fee is $100 per week for Osceola residents, $110 per week for non-residents.

Activities include arts and crafts, games, outdoor fun, field trips, swimming and more. Registration is in person. Registration opens April 22 for the City of St. Cloud’s Future Leadership Camp. This camp is for youth ages 13 and 14 and runs June 3-Aug. 9 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Peghorn Nature Park.

This program aims to help students build skills to become the leaders of tomorrow. Topics include skill building, career fairs and professional development. The fee is $120 for residents, non-residents $130 per week.

The OneBlood Donation Drive, hosted by the St. Cloud Police Department, offers citizens a convenient location to provide blood donations on Tuesday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donors must be 16 years of age and older to donate (and ID is required. Donors can schedule an appointment at www.OneBlood.org./donatenow. Use sponsor code 23834.

Have you checked out the new weekly Downtown Farmer’s Market yet? It’s held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in front of St. Cloud City Hall, 1299 9th St. Shop local and regional vendors, who offer a variety of local honey, meats, breads, sweets, coffee and more.

 

The 2024 Florida State Championship BMX Series Final will be in St. Cloud April 26-27 at St. Cloud BMX in Peghorn Park, with an awards ceremony on April 28 at the Kissimmee Civic Center. For registration, race schedules and events, go to www. sunshinestatebmx.com.

 

The next Downtown Monthly Market takes place on Wednesday, April 24 at 5 p.m. This family friendly night of shopping local vendors and crafters includes food trucks and pop-up vendors, kids activities, face painting, DJ and booths featuring local camps and athletic organizations. The Market sprawls along New York and Pennsylvania avenues from 10th to 12th Street.

 

It’s a Free For All! First United Methodist Church, 1000 Ohio Ave., is hosting this community give-away event on Saturday, April 27th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. People are encouraged to bring gently used items that they no longer want and then take what others have brought that they could use. Everything will be free! Musical entertainment will be provided by The Good News Ambassadors.

 

Teen Neon Bash hosted by the City of St. Cloud at the St. Cloud Civic Center on Saturday, April 27 from 7-10 p.m. Admission is $10. This event is for teens 13-16 (current ID required). Admission includes pizza, popcorn and drinks.
