Saturday April 13 will be a busy one in downtown St. Cloud.

The inaugural Home & Garden event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The streets will be filled with pop-ups, food vendors, music and more.

Then head over to A Taste of Main Street at the St. Cloud Marina from 6-9 p.m.  Tickets are $25 per person and the event features refreshments and small bites showcased by the eateries of Main Street.  It is also an opportunity to mingle with friends and make new ones. For tickets, call 407-498-0008 or go to www.stcloudmainstreet.org.

 

Wreaths Across America’s Mobile Education Exhibit brings the local community, veterans, active-duty military and their families together through interactive exhibits, short films and shared stories.  It is also an official “Welcome Home” station for our nations Vietnam Veterans.  Public tours are free and open to the public.  Wreaths Across America will be at Centennial Park on 9th Street on Sunday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The First Annual Wreath Games Fundraiser Downtown St. Cloud Crawl and Scavenger Hunt will also be held that day starting at American Legion Post 80 (1019 Pennsylvania Ave.)  Pick a team of 3-6 members and dress up.  Teams will have 3 hours to finish your tasks. Registration begins at 1 p.m. with the games beginning at 2 p.m.

Registration fee is $12 per person by Sunday, April 7th (at American Legion Post 80) or $15 per person on the day of the event. For more information, call 407-892-8808.

 

The next Thrive Thursday takes place today, April 11 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Hopkins Park (620 E. 17th St.)  The topic presented by Next Step Counseling will be Stress and Mental Health. The following Thursday, Your Holistic Center will present Balancing Mind, Body and Soul, and on the 25th the Healing Hippie, Benefits of Essential Oils and Stress.  These stress management workshops hope to help you discover healthy techniques and strategies to reduce stress and enhance overall mental health. These classes are free.

 

The City of St. Cloud will host the Hispanic Chamber on Thursday, April 18th in the City Hall lobby for café with members from 8:30-10 a.m.  Presented by Advent Health.  This is an opportunity to enjoy coffee, snacks and meet business people in the community.

 

Summer is right around the corner. The School District of Osceola County’s 2024 Summer School Programs offer learning opportunities when school is not in session.  There are several in St. Cloud.  The registration window closes Monday, April 29. 

Third grade reading summer camp is aimed for students who scored level 1 or 2 on 2023 FAST.  Students attending this camp receive intensive reading instruction.  This is an opportunity to learn a Good Cause Exemption for promotion to 4th grade. 

Dates are June 3-27, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Locations in the St. Cloud area are Michigan Avenue Elementary and Neptune Elementary.

Sixth-Grade Orientation is designed to provide rising 6th graders with middle school orientation, including curriculum and expectations.  Classes will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday at Canoe Creek K-8, Narcoossee Middle, St. Cloud Middle, and Harmony Middle. For more information, contact each school.

ESE Extended School Year provides special education and related services to students with disabilities beyond the regular school year.  This is for children levels pre-k to 8 and runs June 3-27 at Michigan Avenue Elementary, Neptune Elementary,  Harmony Middle.

Extended Day Camp 1 Summer Camp provides an environment to enhance students cognitive, social and cultural skills for students in grades K-5 from June 8-28 or July 8-26 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lakeview Elementary.

Middle School Math and Science Grade Recovery for grades 6-8 provides students a chance to recover an academic course they failed from June 3-27 form 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Canoe Creek K-8 and Harmony Middle.

Summer Bridge allows students in grades K-5 to better prepare for the next grade level in reading, math and science.  This runs June 3-27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Canoe Creek K-8and Neptune Middle.
