The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) will host a back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Anthony DePalma Event Center, 395 Marigold Ave. Students in grades K-12 will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies (while supplies last). Food trucks and vendors will also be onsite.

Poinciana Christian Church (3281 Pleasant Hill Road), hosts Back to School Kickstart this Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church will be giving away 600 bags of school supplies along with free hot dogs until supplies run out.
Mark your calendar for Zion’s Young Adult Ministry back to school drive on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Zion Redemption Church of God (4930 Old Pleasant Hill Road). Giveaways include backpacks filled with school supplies, plus your chance to win Golden Ticket prizes. The Golden Ticket giveaway includes 3 free haircuts, 3 free hairstyles and one winner will receive 4 tickets to Seaworld or Busch Gardens.
Chosen Generation Youth & Chosen Kids Ministries will be hosting a Back 2 School Bash 2026 on Sunday, Aug. 2 at 12 noon at 3200 Pleasant Hill Road. Vendor space is still available. The APV presents Birthday Party Bingo, celebrating our nation’s 250th Birthday. Wear your Red, White and Blue and head over to the Poinciana Community Center on Friday, July 24 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6). The fee is 10 games for $5 with cash prizes being awarded. The concession stand will be open. No outside food or drink permitted at this adults-only event.
Osceola County Commission Chairman Brandon Arrington will host a free micro-chip event this Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Valencia College Poinciana campus. This is a drive-up outdoor event. Participants must stay in their vehicles. This is available to Osceola residents with a valid driver’s license. The Poinciana Council of the Osceola Chamber will hold a Business Mixer on Tuesday, July 28th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at SouthState Bank (850 Cypress Pkwy.) Connect with local entrepreneurs and build business relationships in a relaxed environment. Admission for Chamber members is $8, non-members $12. The Poinciana Predators, Poinciana’s longest running organized youth football and cheer program, is currently holding registration for boys and girls ages 5-14. Practices are held at Vance Harmon Park (50 Country Club Road) on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Rhythm, Rhyme & Roar takes place on Tuesday, July 28 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. This program is for children up to age 5. Sing, swing and sway through this program dedicated to music and movement. At 11:30 a.m. is Baby and Me. Hug your little ones while sharing this special first-time experience. This is for children up to 18 months. This program introduces books with playtime and repetitive music.

Adults can enjoy the America250 program, World of Card Games: Whist on Wednesday, July 29 from 2-3 p.m. This blend of storytelling on card-table fun with Whist was the leading intellectual card game in the western world during the 1800’s.
Poinciana Library is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave. All Library programs are free and open to the public.
Osceola County is seeking residents to serve on the Lakes Advisory Committee. Poinciana’s District 3 is in need of two more Lakes Committee Advisors.
