Guess what (Fri)day it is? It’s First Friday Food Truck night. Food Truck Friday is back!
The food trucks will be at the Poinciana Community Center (445 Marigold Ave.), on the first Friday, including tomorrow, the 2nd of September through November. Participating trucks include: Itar Bistro-Market, Mattie B’s Just Ribs, Peter Johns Ice Cream and Manny’s Pizzeria With a Latin Touch. There may still be space available for more food trucks. The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) presents Wine Tasting, Music & Magic on Sept. 10 from 6- 9 p.m. at the Poinciana Community Center. This adult, 21-andup- only evening of wine tasting – 5 wine selections (2 white and 3 red) — is $15 per person. Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2022 Poinciana Beautiful Award. For the fifth year, APV will be recognizing Poinciana homeowners whose homes show the pride they have for their community.
While APV has employees who observe and nominate certain homes, your help is also needed. Nominate your own home or your neighbor’s home to be considered for “Home of the Year” in your Village. Winners will be announced at a Gala event on Jan. 28, 2023.
To nominate your home, take pictures of the outside of your home that showcase it’s “curbside appeal”. You may drop them in person at APV Administration (401 Walnut St.), Attn. Trish or email trish.moore@fsresidential.com.
There is still time to register for the Poinciana Youth Sports Association’s Junior Magic Basketball League. This coed league for ages 6-17 is divided into four age categories. The Fall season runs from Sept. 17 through Nov. 5 (gym for games TBD). The registration fee is $140 and includes practices and games (all Poinciana area), a new customized Junior Gagic jersey and a free ticket to an Orlando Magic game.
